We request that you disassemble and pre-inspect your EMS4 for any visual damages before contacting us/sending unit in. 

EMS-4 Repair Limitations:

  • Major damage to the mainboard.
    If you see there’s any physical burned-thru spot(s) on the board, we cannot repair it. However, we can repair burned circuits/traces.
  • Damaged processor.
    If we find that we cannot communicate to your EMS4 due to having a damaged processor, we cannot repair it. One particular red flag relating to a damaged processor is if the EMS4 constantly asks for a password even after entering a password or the unit is not setup for using a password yet keeps asking for one.

Unlike EMS 1/2, and Infinity’s, we do not have replacement boards for the EMS-4 units, hence why we do not offer full board replacements in the event of needing one, usually for said limitations.

What is the initial repair cost for an EMS-4?

AEM EMS-4 repair fee is $250 per EMS-4

Onboard connector replacement is an additional $170 fee

Note: this is a non-refundable base fee regardless if the unit is repaired or not.

Don’t worry though – we have an approximate 99% repair rate for AEM ECU’s we receive! Its very rare cases/unique damage that can thwart a no-repair situation.

This fee includes any/all repairs mentioned in EMS repair list below and includes return shipping fees for U.S. domestic customers. International shipping fees are not included and will need to be calculated.

What is the turnaround time?

Due to a high volume of repair jobs, we give an approximate turnaround time of 4-5 weeks, which excludes weekends and holidays. Please prepare yourself for this downtime as we do not offer any kind of expedited repair services. 

Turnaround time starts when we physically receive your AEM unit, if payment is received, and excludes all shipping transit time.

AEM units are typically returned via USPS Ground Advantage for domestic customers.  Guam, Puerto Rico, and other outlying US Islands may vary on shipping carrier (also at customer’s request).
